Tree service in Newport Beach

Coastal Trees From the Harbor to Newport Coast

Newport Beach covers a wide range of settings, from the tight lots of Balboa Island and the Peninsula to the hillside homes of Corona del Mar and Newport Coast. Close to the water, trees deal with salt air, sandy soil and steady ocean wind; up on the hills, canopies are often managed to keep ocean and harbor views open. Many neighborhoods have mature trees that have grown large for their lots, crowding roofs, walls and neighbors' yards.

 Crown Reduction
“Worked in a professional manor. Cleaned the neighbors yard, our yard and the street. We were very pleased with removing part of our large Chinese Elm and thinning out the crown.”
Karl Barbour, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026
 Clean-up
“Luna has trimmed the 6 trees on our property for the last 2 years, and they do an excellent job. The trees look great, and they are super clean, so your yard looks perfect when they are done.”
Karen Parker, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026
 Years of repeat work
“We have been using Luna tree for many years. A few days ago Isidro and Francisco did a great job in trimming our Peppermint tree and cleaning-up afterwords, at a reasonable price. Thank you Luna Tree!”
Tony Pira, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026

How we work

Our services, explained

Palms, Pines and View-Friendly Pruning

Common Newport Beach trees include queen, king and Mexican fan palms, pines, coral trees, ficus, eucalyptus and jacarandas. Palms are usually trimmed once a year to remove dead fronds and seed pods, and ficus roots can lift hardscape on small lots. Where a view matters, crown thinning and careful reduction can open it up without topping the tree, which weakens it and causes fast regrowth. Coastal winds make dead wood removal and canopy thinning worth doing before winter storms.

HOA, Parkway and City Notes

Newport Beach is an incorporated city, and many neighborhoods, especially in Newport Coast and the gated communities, have an HOA with guidelines on trees and views. Trees in the public parkway between the sidewalk and the street are generally the city's responsibility, so check with the City of Newport Beach before any work on a parkway tree. For a tree on your own property, check your HOA's CC&Rs before removing or reducing it. Once you have approval, we can schedule the work.
